What does Black liberation mean to Monique Melton and Why does it matter?

Black liberation is a daily pursuit that requires an ongoing commitment to anti-racism. Discover what Black liberation is, why it matters and how to take action. This training features a 21-day challenge with a comprehensive workbook full of thought-provoking activities, journal prompts, and guides that are designed to build a daily practice of anti-racism centered in Black liberation.

If you're ready to stop making excuses and start making changes, then this is for you. There's much work to do so let's go.

Why I Created This…

Back in May/June 2020 there was a surge of interest in the work of anti-racism for a finite moment and then it quickly fizzled out. This has been both disappointing and frustrating to watch and experience, so I decided to take that anger and put it into action with a challenge to redirect the conversation on Black liberation. Because we need change and we need it now.

My hope for this experience…

I hope you will feel challenged and self-motivated to do this work during this challenge and beyond.

I hope for you to feel responsible & encouraged to take action.

I hope for you to center action over performance.

I hope for you to to build a habit of committing to this work as a daily practice.

Why You Should Host Black
Liberation Training?

Remember in 2020 when so many companies and organizations made a commitment to doing this work? Well, many have fallen from that commitment and some have stayed focused. No matter where you are in the journey we are ready to partner with you.

Let’s remember this work has always been important, and that it must remain important and urgent for months and years to come.

Whose Needs Are You Centering?

Is your current goal about making white people feel more comfortable talking about uncomfortable issues around anti-black racism? Or is your goal about creating a more affirming and equitable space for everyone, especially your black employees.

You might think they achieve similar things, but they do not.

This Training was designed for organizations or groups that want to get more involved in doing this work as a team in an effort to commit to anti-racism and provide a more equitable work environment and world. It doesn’t matter if your group has 1 member or 1 million members—this opportunity is for you.
